What is a stair lift?

A stair lift is a system designed to allow you to safely go up and down the stairs in your home. It allows the users to sit in a chair, be buckled in, and with the press of a button the chair glides along a track up and down the stairs of your home. It is the ideal choice for seniors or people living with limited mobility to be able safely navigate multiple levels of their home.

How is a stair lift used?

Using a stair lift is a fairly straightforward process. In general, you can operate a stair lift by following these steps.

  1. Sit down on the stair lift seat.
  2. Put on your seatbelt.
  3. Press and hold the rocker switch, located near the armrest.
  4. To stop the stair lift, release the switch.

Stair lifts can be easily operated by both the user sitting in the lift and caregivers, so they are also a great option for children helping their parents age in place.
